Oh Baby!
Bethany and Ted will be welcoming their first baby in August and it's safe to say we're over-the-moon excited about it!

Where will 2017 lead us?
Lately there's been a lot of focus on how terrible 2016 was, but I think that depends on what you choose to remember it by. For Aaron and I, we were able to experience 3 out of the 4 corners of the country this year alone... I'd say that makes 2016 pretty awesome. As we gear up for the new year, we know we want to make it just as memorable and adventurous. Let us know where you think 2017 should lead us!

Rachel and Matt's wedding day began with a beautiful ceremony held at the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Elysburg, PA. After making their promise to one another, it was off to the Barn at Hidden Acres for a fun filled evening of heartfelt speeches, tons of laughter, and endless dance moves. Molly + Josh | Married at The Country Barn | Lancaster, PA
What a perfect day and location for these two lovebirds to tie the knot! Molly & Josh hosted their wedding in the gorgeous loft of The Country Barn in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The room was filled with stunning wood textures and exposed brick that complimented their simple, rustic style. It was an absolutely beautiful day filled to the brim with tons of love, smiles, and heartwarming moments. From a first dance shared with their adorable daughter to tearful dedications to lost loved ones, there was no shortage of special memories for everyone involved.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding?
My advice to those planning now is to honestly just have fun with it and not to stress over it. I stressed so much while trying to plan this wedding over things that didn't even happen during the wedding lol. The time of your wedding everything just falls into place and everyone has so much fun that there's nothing to worry about. And it doesn't have to be perfect to be remembered.
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
Sharing a slow dance with my cousin Andrew.. (Who is considered like my brother) to the song Drink a Beer by Luke Bryan. This song has so much meaning to us. It was a song we dedicate to a very close family friend who was considered family who passed away in a tragic accident. Slow dancing with him was something we NEVER did because we usually aren't the lovey type of family and I think in that moment it was just so special and something I will always remember.

To those who passed away.. we all miss you very much but we know you were looking down on us during our special day. We love and miss you everyday, Nana Martin, Pap Tobie, Amanda Webb and Great Grandma Robbins.

Heather + CJ | Gettysburg Elopement
Heather & CJ decided to keep their marriage simple - a quick civil ceremony and a celebration with their family and close friends. I absolutely loved the intimacy of the whole day! The exchange of their vows took all of 15 minutes and then we were on our way to enjoy the beautiful backdrop of the Gettysburg historic district and Hauser Estate Winery. While the sky looked a bit threatening at times, it was truly a picture-perfect day.

Megan + Matt | Pine Barn Inn Wedding
Megan & Matt have a way about them that makes each conversation with them feel like we're just old friends catching up on moments passed. I knew it would be no different when their wedding day finally arrived. They are two of the most humble and grateful people I've had the pleasure to meet. I just loved watching their day unfold and all of the special moments shared between them and their family & friends.

What was your favorite part of the day?
"I don't know if I can narrow down the entire day to a single moment, I have plenty of moments that I loved! I loved seeing the expression on Matt's face when I was walking down the aisle, I loved the expression on my dad's face when walking me down the aisle (I'm a daddy's girl). We both are really happy that we kept our wedding party on the smaller side, just our closest friends and family. We were both happy that most of the cops could attend, they basically are our extended family. I was happy that we got to incorporate the police vehicles in some pictures, I know that meant a lot to Matt since that's been his profession thus far after college. I loved that we weren't rushed for pictures and were able to get so many different backgrounds! The pictures are what really keeps the day alive for years to come! We both loved our first dance to our favorite country artist (Thomas Rhett), and I also loved the father/daughter dance. I loved all my vendors!! I think you all did exactly what I had envisioned- the flowers, the cake, the music and the backdrops for the photos! I really can't say enough good things about any of you and I would highly recommend any of you to future brides!"

Rain seems to be a theme for our summer weddings this year. Lucky for us, we have some pretty awesome couples who just let it roll off their shoulders & continue to enjoy the day. "I wanted a more modern theme with my wedding. Purple has always been my favorite color and I really wanted to incorporate that throughout the entire day. I think that was my inspiration color and everything else was based on that!"

It was a very hot and humid, summer day on July 23, 2016 when Jessica & Wes were married. Our trip started with a flight into Seattle, but we were dying to get a glimpse of the massive mountains - queue Mount Rainier. The sheer size of this mountain just blew our minds! It's the most prominent mountain (actually, active volcano) in the lower 48 states... so beautiful to finally see in real life! After spending some time in the snow, we made our way to Bend, Oregon where we met up with our friend, Joe. He introduced us to this little culinary goldmine called Spork, where we ate a delicious lunch, and then took us to hit some killer Oregon dirt jumps. We ended the evening with some craft hard cider at Atlas Cider Co. Unfortunately, we woke up to some poor weather the next morning, which meant Crater Lake would have to wait until the next trip out west (it'll be soon, I hope). Instead, we packed up and headed to the coast to check out Bandon Beach. The beaches on the Pacific coast are unlike anything the east coast has to offer! There are huge rocks that help to create the photographer's dream. They're also homes to tons of different birds and seals! We made our way up the coast to Portland, hitting a few different beaches along the way. Each one just as incredibly beautiful as the last. Portland was pretty rad if we do say so ourselves! They had food options for every lifestyle - gluten free, vegan, etc - oh, and all the pizza and beer you could ever imagine! This lead to one of our favorite parts of the trip.. We got to catch back up with Joe and this time we also got to meet his awesome girlfriend, Kaylan. They took us for a night tour of the city on bikes that ended with some grub at the food trucks. We can't thank them enough for helping to make this one of our favorite trips to date!
We will definitely be back! Sooner rather than later. Until next time...

The day started off with a bit of showers, but cleared right up for their lovely outdoor ceremony in "The Ruins" at The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs. They joined their family and friends at cocktail hour to celebrate and listen to one of John's favorite musicians, Tommy Conwell. This lead to one of my personal favorite moments of the day... In the midst of all the talking and celebrating, I looked over and watched them dancing and smiling with each other like no one else was around. What a perfect depiction of true love.
Congratulations Heather & John! We loved being a part of your day and are so happy for you!
Their favorite part of the day...
"All of it!! The time I spent in the Bride’s room was both calm and full of anticipation and got more celebratory as the ceremony drew closer. I enjoyed looking out of the window as the afternoon brightened and I could see all the preparations and activity buzzing around outside and even some guests arriving. The moment that I had so looked forward to managed to catch me by surprise the most! It was the moment I turned the corner into the stone Ruins and saw John waiting for me. When I saw his face, I was overwhelmed with a wave of emotion. And seeing all of our friends and family there together in support of our marriage was so special. Once I made my way up the aisle to John, I was giddy. And my favorite moment of the day may have been after we walked down the aisle together after the ceremony and we both looked at each other laughing and giddy and we both said 'let’s do it again!'"
Some advice from the bride....
"Plan as much as you can early on. Life will happen and unexpected things will come up. If you’ve laid all of the groundwork, it makes it easier to roll with changes. And, enjoy the planning and the details. Enjoy planning together. It’s a wonderful and exciting time, a celebration of you both and a celebration of family and friends."

They chose the gorgeous Ricketts Glen State Park as the setting for their engagement shoot and we couldn't have been happier with their decision! Surrounded by the beautiful waterfalls, Amber & Mick really let lose and made it worth their while. It was a hot and humid summer evening, but they still hiked from one fall to the next without question, all while dressed in their nicest clothes. We loved hearing all of their stories and their willingness to get barefoot, jump into the water, climb up rocks, and just truly be themselves.

I can honestly say that photography has played one of the biggest roles in shaping what my life is today. While attending Bloomsburg University as a full time business student (where I dreamed of owning my own business), I found myself searching for a hobby I could really enjoy and didn’t cost me a fortune. I’ve always been the artsy type, but I was growing tired of my usual painting and drawing. One day, against my better judgement, I just decided on a whim to spend most of my little work study paycheck on a “fancy” Nikon camera… And thank goodness I did. I became so absorbed in learning all I could about it – having fun trying all the different settings, new angles, how the light changed a picture entirely. I carried it everywhere “just in case” – heck, maybe there was something I wanted to document that day! I guess Aaron (who had been dabbling in photography himself) recognized my drive and began to send me tutorials and helpful hints that he had been using. Little did I know that those helpful messages would lead to a lifetime with this man.
I was one of those extremely fortunate people who landed a wonderful job right out of college. It was like I stepped off the stage at graduation and right into my new office. I found out that Aaron also worked for this organization – we had lunch, then a date, and one thing led to the next. We were married in October 2013 and decided to really get serious about starting our photography business shortly thereafter. As Homiak Photography really began to grow, we found ourselves working more often than not. We spend much of our day in the office just to turn around and work more once we get home. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t like my job. I love that it has provided me with amazing opportunities for both personal and professional growth. Not to mention the truly incredible people I’ve been able to work with who continue to support me and my goals. I just found myself craving the opportunity to create my own schedule (kind of), focus more energy on our phenomenal clients, and really go after my passion.
We began crunching numbers and saw that we could really make this happen if we wanted to. Not having a fixed income seemed incredibly scary to me at first. How could I go without a “real” paycheck? It was hard to wrap my head around what I would do during the slower months. So yea, it may just mean that I can’t buy that dress I wanted this time around or we won’t be going to get wings for dinner this week... but that’s okay! We may have to make some minor adjustments here and there, but I know it will all be worth it.
I’m looking forward to the time I get back to really enjoy the things I don’t want to miss out on. No, I don’t have kids to raise… but I do have a husband that I wish to spend more time with, family that I want to visit more often, nieces and nephews that I want to watch grow up, and friends I want to see. There are no words to describe how fortunate I feel to be able to make this a reality all while doing what I truly love. I welcome this brand new adventure with open arms.

Let's just take a minute to talk about that ring! Not only is it gorgeous in itself (well done Nathan), but when they told me it holds diamonds from Kelly's grandmother's earrings, it added so much more to the beauty!
As we drove around to different locations, Kelly knew that she wanted a gorgeous field with dreamy, golden sunlight. When you're working with natural light, you're always at the mercy of Mother Nature - but I'd say she decided to cooperate quite nicely!

As we say goodbye to 2015, we like to take a look back at all that we've been able to experience and enjoy by sharing some of our favorite photos from our own personal collections. Over the past few years we’ve truly gotten to know Sierra & Erik and one thing that is for certain is how obvious it is that they were meant for one another. These two have such a unique relationship that everyone strives for. They so effortlessly complement one another and are truly each other’s best friend. Just ask anyone who knows them!
One of our favorite elements from this wedding (besides the couple themselves, of course) is how they incorporated so many details that allowed their personalities to shine through. Erik is an extraordinary artist that specializes in silkscreen and letter press prints, which made their handmade invitation suite and signage scattered throughout the wedding even more perfect. The mix of mismatched navy bridesmaid dresses & Sierra’s mustard yellow shoes were to die for! Such a perfectly, creative couple!
It has been such a pleasure getting to know these two and watching their relationship develop into what it is today. We are so thrilled to have had the opportunity to capture Sierra & Erik’s big day in August. We are so excited to be able to present Nikki & Mike’s gorgeous wedding day! These two were just incredible to work with. Even with the rain pouring down, Nikki’s easygoing outlook on the situation proved that she wasn’t going to let it ruin the day. She was focused on marrying the man of her dreams and having fun with family and friends.. and that’s exactly what they did.
You get to learn so much about couples and their wedding party when you’re with them for almost 10 hours straight! From the moment we walked in to greet them, it was pretty clear this group was going to be a ton of fun. The groomsmen were a riot and could instantly make anyone laugh (this definitely came in handy during portraits)! There wasn’t a moment during the reception where we didn’t see them all dancing or trying to sneak in a few selfies. Something we really admired about both Nikki and Mike is how much their families truly mean to them. This was made evident during a touching moment when Nikki’s brother, Robby, sang a tribute to their new life together as everyone circled around.
From their beautiful church where they exchanged vows, to the reception where they danced the night away, everything about their wedding day was just lovely. The use of beautiful shades of pale pinks mixed with elements of lace and pearls made for a stunning vintage appeal with a hint of rustic chic added by tying in burlap details.

]]>This gorgeous, country-chic wedding took place during a lovely spring day in the bride’s hometown area of Bloomsburg, PA. The warm, inviting sun lit up their beautiful outside ceremony before guests headed indoors for dinner and dancing. Following the ceremony was one of the sweetest moments of the night when their adorable daughter, Charlotte, joined in on the first dance and brought tears to everyone’s eyes. It’s evident the love this couple has for one another – at any given moment, you could look over and find them smiling at one another from across the room or sneaking in a quick kiss. We had such a blast documenting this day for them and couldn't be happier for the newlyweds! Congratulations, Heather and Brendan!
